Rutgers University’s Office of Financial Aid provides need-based financial aid packages to its students. These packages consist of federal, institutional and state grants, federal student and parent loans and a variety of scholarships including Rutgers student scholarships, Rutgers Health Services (RBHS) scholarships, and private specialty scholarships. There are also outside scholarships that students can apply for as well as scholarships for transfer students. The New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund is a program for New Jersey resident economically disadvantaged students to help with financial and other support services to assist in affording Rutgers. Students can help subsidize their education costs through student employment opportunities including federal work-study positions as well as other on-campus positions funded by the Job Location and Development Program.
Students have the opportunity to apply for summer and winter term financial aid and
graduate student financial aid is available based on individual needs. Helpful tuition payment plans can also assist students in budgeting for their educational expenses. Tools to help students assess affordability include a page explaining the estimated cost of attendance and a link to the net price calculator.
