Ohio State University offers its admitted undergraduate students with its Tuition Guarantee which promises to keep tuition, fees, and some expenses the same for all four consecutive years in an effort to maintain affordability.
Through the Student Financial Aid Office (after submitting the FAFSA and becoming an accepted student), students are awarded financial aid packages in the form of need-based federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, , federal student and parent loans, and federal work-study job awards. Ohio State University provides information to students and families on navigating the option of private education loans. Students who have not been awarded with a federal work-study opportunity can take advantage of the job board for all students in an effort to find a part-time job and make supplemental income. Graduate and professional student financial aid is available to students, as well. Discounted summer tuition may also be available to students who wish to pursue their education throughout the summer months.
In addition to the merit scholarships that are available to students, Ohio State University provides students with information and options on applying for outside scholarships and departmental scholarships. Transfer and International students can apply for special scholarships which are based on a variety of criteria and eligibility requirements. A special scholarship application is available for students to be considered for these types of scholarship opportunities.
The Second Year Transformation Experience Program (STEP) Fellowships are available to second year students. This fellowship, with a variety of participant requirements, offers financial subsidy in the form of fellowship money for students to use toward a Signature Project of their choosing. The aim of the program is to help students create a more intentional experience academically and personally by forming networks and connections with faculty and other students and guiding them toward success by helping them pursue their interests and passions.
Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program is a scholarship program funded by the Ohio Department of HIgher Education. It is intended to provide scholarships to students who are pursuing STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) specialities. This program is an effort to support these areas of education to Ohio colleges and Universities.

The Student Wellness Center at the Ohio State University Main Campus provides students with wellness services, including access to financial coaches through a program called the Scarlet and Gray Financial Coaching Program. It is an education-based service where students are given the resources needed in order to make their own financially based healthy decisions. Topics of education include Financial Goal Setting, Banking Basics, Credit Education, Savings and Retirement Options Education, Budgeting, and Debt Repayment Education. The Scarlet and Gray Financial Coaching Program offers 1:1 coaching and can also present topics to a group of students upon request.
The financial literacy platform called iGrad is available to students for free. The iGrad platform works to educate and engage students on topics of financial wellness and literacy with courses and tools online, an online community board, articles, and videos.The total cost of attendance includes tuition and fees, books and supplies, and living expenses.

Ohio State University offers merit scholarships to its incoming freshman. These scholarships are provided to students who demonstrate academic excellence and achievement. At Ohio State University, International students are not eligible for merit-based scholarships. Students admitted under the early admissions deadline will automatically be considered for merit scholarships. With the exception of three merit scholarships, no further application requirements are needed for consideration. These include the National Buckeye Scholarship for non-Ohio residents and the Maximus, Provost, and Trustee Scholarships.
