Along with merit-based and need-based scholarships, state and federal grants, loans (federal and private) and federal work-study programs, Baylor University provides links to several outside scholarships. If you are planning on studying abroad or are an international student, there are financial options and programs to help.
First In Line is a center on campus that helps first generation college students navigate some of the financial hurdles and questions when considering Baylor University. The initiative includes a scholarship for students participating in a pre-college program called First In LIne Success Academy as well as resources for current students. High school students admitted through to this program will be able to meet faculty and other first generation students and also be eligible for a pre-move in program that will extend throughout their college career at Baylor. The First In Line Success Academy Scholarship Program helps first generation college students by not only providing them with financial assistance of up to $15,000 for up to four years, but this program also provides assistance to first generation college students who are transfer students (with the opportunity to receive scholarship assistance for 2 years worth of school at Baylor. Students must fill out a scholarship application to be considered for this scholarship.
First In Line also has the First In Line Living-Learning Program Scholarship that is open to first generation college students. This program provides additional need-based scholarship money to help students. You must apply for this scholarship in order to be considered.
First In Line’s Peer Leadership Program where students who are also first generation college students and have been involved with First In Line serve new students coming in. They mentor, provide guidance, and help new first generation students navigate the program and their budding college career. First In Line also offers the GAIN program. The GAIN Program stands for First Generation Assistance in Internships and Networking. Students will be provided with a mentor in the field in which they are studying along with ongoing mentorship and networking opportunities. Students in this program are also encouraged to attend professional development events and training as part of the On-Campus Internship Program (OCIP).
